In 1985, Raymond Pettibon began his surfers and waves series, which he continues to work on to this day. His surf paintings, which the Huffington Post describes as “pure punk poetry,” are popular for depicting a lone surfer silently carving “a line of beauty” along an impossibly large wave. This book spotlights a selection of 100+ works, with texts by Jamie Brisick and Brian Lukacher and contributions from Emily Erickson and Stephanie Gilmore.
